… I only have one thing to offer and that is milkshakes.

My friend sent me this forever ago. Apparently, you can take some bananas, slice them up into thin slices, and freeze them. After they are frozen, put them and a little smashed ice into a blender, and mix them until they’re completely smooth. This should end up the same consistency of soft serve icecream. You can add in any fruit that you like, and supposedly you won’t be able to taste the banana much, just in case you don’t like them. This will make a nice fruit milkshake or fruit smoothie without having to use icecream or anything like that.

EDIT: Actually this may not work. The first site I looked at for celiac listed them on a ‘things you can buy’ list, but subsequent sites are saying bananas are a no. Use your best judgement I guess?

I’ll do some research on it, thanks anyway though!

I don’t want to risk anything since this is for a friend that’s staying, not for me. I should probably ash him what kinds of things he likes too.

Be sure to look out for the Moon these next few months as it approaches Perigee, because the full moons during these times will appear exceptionally large. The Moon will be at its Perigee, or closest approach, in July 23 and it will reach full moon only a few minutes after it passes this point in its orbit.

These ‘super moons’ not only appear larger because they are physically closer but, combined with a full moon, the mind can play tricks on you to think they are much larger. This phenomena is called the Moon Illusion. Try to catch these full moons as they rise/set because the illusion works when there is an object in the foreground, like a tree, building or mountains.
