DON'T LET THE BASTARDS GET YOU DOWN

Inking brush recommendations

I really need a new inking brush, as mine lost its point some time ago and some of the hairs are starting to split away from the main brush head. I’ve been using a Windsor and Newton Cotman Series 111 brush (size 2, it’s my favourite for inking with!) up until now and although it makes nice enough lines, the durability isn’t fantastic. I’m thinking about getting a Windsor and Newton Series 7 brush to replace it, since I know of a few other comic artist who use them for their inking and have read a few reviews saying they’re good, durable brushes.

BUT before I splash out on a Series 7 I’d like to know what you guys use or would recommend, just so I can take a look around and make a more informed decision about my next inking brush. (and remember this brush will probably only be used for inking lines, not painting, so if it doesn’t hold water too well that’s not a huge problem)

So what would you recommend?
